World Kindness Day |
How would you like to start your day with a smile? Imagine if, on World Kindness Day, we were all encouraged to spread kindness around like an infectious cold. Studies show that when others observe acts of compassion in action, they are more likely to be kind themselves! So while out today and see something wrong happening right before our eyes – maybe someone has left their trash can tip over or there is some obvious weed growing near the bus stop- don’t just ignore it; pick up whatever needs fixing so that this does not happen again tomorrow morning (or any other time). By simply being kind and picking up after others, we are encouraging mindfulness and respect for our environment. We can also make an effort to be more patient with the people around us. We all know how frustrating it can be when someone cuts us off in traffic or is rude to us in line at the grocery store. But what if we simply smiled and wished them a good day instead of getting angry? It’s amazing how such a small act of kindness can change someone’s entire mood – and it might just make them want to pass that kindness on to others. |
