Hip Hop Old School Music 1970s to early 1990s

Hip Hop Old School Music 1970s-early 1990s

Old School DJ Kool Herc is credited with inventing Hip Hop at a block party in 1974, although there were others playing too. All it took was two of the same vinyl record and some skill at cutting between them. That summer, Lovebug Starski started this style of music and dancing “hip-hop”. Kool Herc was one of the first victims of violent death in this music culture, stabbed in 1977.
